How To Take The Doors Off of a Jeep Wrangler JK
Once you get a hold of a T-50 toryx bit, removing the doors is as simple as removing the two bolts from the bottom of the hinges on each door. These may be tight if you have never removed your door. Be sure to avoid scratching the paint on your vehicle. Once the pins are removed you will need to disconnect the wiring harness and the strap from below the dash. Make sure the lock is in the unlocked position before you try yanking the plug apart. You may want to use a light of some sort to be sure that the harness is in the unlocked position before you try to disconnect. Your door is now completely disconnected from the vehicle, all now you will want to lift the doors straight up and off of the hinges and put them in a safe place. Repeat these steps for both, or all four doors. Install your temporary mirror if you have one and you are all set!
Put The Doors Back Onto a Jeep Wrangler JK
Putting the doors back onto your jeep can prove to be more difficult than it seems. The doors are very cumbersome and make it difficult to line up the two hinges. It takes some practice to be able to just toss them back on. If required you can get a buddy to help you line up the hinges. Once the door is replaced on its hinges, reconnect the wiring harness and the door strap. Finally replace the two bolts that secure the door to the hinges.
Personally, I like to leave the two bolts detached. This allows me to remove the doors quickly the next time I want to remove the doors.
