For most, buying a car can be a big deal. Some save up for years to finally purchase their dream car. Others drop cash on a way to get from point A to point B efficiently. Either way, it is important that you follow the rules when purchasing an automobile to avoid big penalties. Jeep Wranglers are purchased every day but not all buyers have the same intention. Some want a cool looking ride to pick up groceries while others want to modify their rig to get the most excitement out of it. Some Wranglers may never see the asphalt after leaving the lot.
When I was young, a sophomore in high school, I was obsessed with the idea of owning my own Jeep Wrangler. The thought of modifying it to become the ultimate off-road ride spurred hours of, what my friends and I called, Jeep hunting online. There was one problem, I did not yet have my driver’s license.
I began conducting research how I could buy myself a Jeep Wrangler. I talked to my parents about it and they saw no problem with it as long as I did not let it leave out property until I got my license; we lived on a 142 acre piece of land. The Jeep Wrangler JK had just come out and I had my eyes set on it. The problem was I could not afford the nearly $21k vehicle. I only had $5k saved up.
Can You Get a Car Loan Without a Driver’s License?
Being that I could not afford to buy my dream Jeep with cash I looked into financing options. Unfortunately, as it turns out, no bank will loan you money for a car without insurance, and you can not get insurance without a license. So my chances of getting a Jeep JK were slashed due to the simple fact that I did not have enough money.

Can You Buy a Jeep Wrangler on Craigslist With Cash Without a Driver’s License?
If you purchase a Jeep Wrangler with cash there is no need to get insurance, and therefore no reason to need a driver’s license to make the purchase. In North Carolina, the reasoning behind allowing people to buy cars without a license is to help out the elderly who are unable to operate the vehicle but still need to buy one for someone else to drive them around. So yes, you can buy a car without a license as long as you pay with cash.
Can You Buy a Jeep from a Dealership Without a Driver’s License?
This is just what I did. I went on craigslist and found a nice Jeep Wrangler TJ, for $6,500. My parents helped out with the extra $1,500 I needed to buy the Jeep. I could have gone to a dealership to buy the Jeep with cash but I got a better price from craigslist.
If you do not have a license but want to buy a Jeep Wrangler just save up the cash and you will be good to go!
